Some of our younger-age swim classes require a parent or guardian to participate in the water with their child. This helps children feel safe, supported, and confident as they develop their early water skills.
đļ Babies & Toddlers Classes
Murray (6 to 18 Months)
â A parent or guardian is required to be in the water for all lessons.
Darling (18 to 36 Months)
â A parent or guardian is required to be in the water for all lessons.
These classes are designed to encourage water familiarisation, confidence, and bonding through guided parent-and-child activities.
Bells Class (3 to 4 Years)
â A parent or guardian is initially required to be in the water.
The aim of the Bells level is to gradually build your child's confidence and independence in the aquatic environment, allowing them to separate comfortably from their parent or guardian over time.
Our instructors will support this transition and work with each child at their own pace.
â What Happens After Bells?
Once children are confident participating independently and progress into the preschool program, parents and guardians are no longer required to be in the water during lessons.
đ What do parents or guardians need to do during lessons after Bells?
In line with our Watch Around Water policy, parents and guardians are required to actively supervise their swimmers from outside the pool during lessons.
All children under 10 must have an adult actively always supervising them.
Outside of lessons, children under 5 must have an adult within arm's reach if they are in the water, and children under 10 must be actively supervised by an adult.
