At Northcote Aquatic Recreation Centre (NARC), we value and respect the diverse needs of our community. While we are not formal affiliates of the Companion Card or Victorian Carer Card programs, we proudly extend the following offers to support carers and individuals requiring assistance.
1) Companion Card – What NARC Offers
Although we are not a registered Companion Card affiliate, we do recognise the importance of support for individuals who require assistance to participate in recreational activities.
Companion Card holders are eligible for one free companion admission per visit.
This complimentary admission applies to one companion only.
Any additional companions will be required to pay the standard entry fee.
The Companion Card holder must be present for the companion to receive free access.
Please note: A valid Companion Card must be shown at the time of entry. Unfortunately, we cannot apply this offer retroactively or without sighting the card.
What Is the Companion Card?
The Companion Card allows people with a significant, permanent disability who require attendant care support to participate in community activities, to receive one free Companion Visit for their support person.
The Companion visit is free of charge and exempt from all booking fees.
Who Can Be a Companion?
A companion can be a:
Family member
Friend
Paid support worker
They must be able to assist you to participate in the activity and must stay close by during your visit.
You choose who your companion is — this may change depending on the activity or occasion.
When Using the Companion Card:
You must be present with your companion — visits can’t be used without you.
Please let our team know you have a Companion Card when booking or purchasing your visit.
Your valid Companion Card must be shown at pass/visit collection or upon request.
The card can be used alongside any other recognised concession cards.
Only one Companion Visit can be issued per visit.
Important Notes:
If your Companion Card isn’t accepted, please check:
Your card is valid and in date
Your photo is current and recognisable
You are present with your companion
2) Carer Card – What NARC Offers
While not a participant in the official Carer Card program, NARC extends the following support for individuals who present a Victorian Carer Card (‘We Care’ program):
When visiting alone, Carer Card holders receive concession-rate admission.
-
When accompanying a person under their care:
The carer will receive complimentary admission
The person under care is eligible for concession admission
This ensures carers can support those they care for while still enjoying our facilities.
What Is the Carer Card?
The Victorian Carer Card recognises the incredible contribution of unpaid carers, including foster and kinship carers. It offers a range of discounts at participating venues across Victoria.
At NARC:
We offer concession rate discounts to Carer Card holders.
Simply show your valid Carer Card to receive the applicable offer.
3) Terms of Use
To ensure consistent and fair application of these offers:
A valid and current Companion or Carer Card must be presented at the time of entry.
Offers cannot be honoured without the physical card present.
As Northcote Aquatic Recreation Centre is not a participating affiliate of either program, we reserve the right to modify, decline, or withdraw these benefits at our discretion — particularly in cases where eligibility criteria are not met or misuse is suspected.
NARC aligns with the terms and conditions as set forth by the following official programs:
🔗 Companion Card Victoria – Terms and Conditions
🔗 Victorian Carer Card Program
We ask that all cardholders and their companions/carers adhere to the guidelines of their respective programs when accessing our offers.
